The Best Cheddar Cheeseball

I love snacky food. Chips and Dip. Cheeseball and crackers. Fruit bowls, veggie trays, pizza bites, stuffed mushrooms, mozzarella sticks… You name it, I love it (Except spicy stuff) :). I love making themed dinners for a variety of events and the food usually ends up being of this variety. And I don’t get any complaints. The whole family loves it too. So that is a win win and I will just keep on doing it. This is my mom’s cheeseball recipe and I really have to say it is the best cheddar cheeseball I have ever had. It comes together so easily and tastes delicious with any kind of salty cracker.

Ingredients

  • 1 8 oz block cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 Tbsp dried parsley

How to make the best cheddar cheeseball!

Step 1

In a medium sized bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, the mayonnaise, the onion powder, and the garlic powder.

Step 2

Mix in the shredded cheddar cheese. It will be thick. Keep mixing until well combined. Form into a ball.

Step 3

Mix chopped nuts with parsley and put on a tall rimmed plate or in a large bowl. Carefully lower cheeseball into nuts and roll around until the cheeseball is completely covered and no longer sticky. It will be sticky as you roll it! I usually grab some of the nuts and place it around the cheeseball so that I have somewhere to lightly grab as I move it around. Shape into a nice ball while rolling.

Step 4

Arrange cheeseball as desired on plate with crackers. This is what we did for our final Olympic themed dinner. The cheeseball and cracker plate is on the bottom left of the rings. It turned out delicious as usual!

How to store the best cheddar cheeseball

Due to the cheeses, this cheeseball should be stored in the fridge. After our meal, I usually just put the cheeseball in a tupperware with a lid. It will harden a little after being chilled, but is still delicious for up to a couple weeks after!

  1. Combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  2. Add shredded cheddar cheese and mix well.
  3. Combine chopped nuts and parsley and place on plate or large bowl.
  4. Roll cheese mixture in nuts until it is completely covered.
  5. Form into a nice ball and place on plate.
  6. Serve immediately or chill.
